Ruben Rubinyan says he will step down as Armenia's special envoy to Türkiye if elected parliament speaker

Armenian Parliament Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan has said that if he is elected Speaker of Parliament, he will no longer serve as Armenia's special representative for the normalization process with Türkiye, Armenpress reports.

Rubinyan made the statement while speaking to journalists.

Asked who could replace him in the role, Rubinyan said he currently had no information on the matter.

He added that the decision would be made by the Prime Minister and the government.

It should be noted that Armenia's ruling Civil Contract party has nominated Ruben Rubinyan for the position of Speaker of Parliament.
