The Armenian government may freeze the process of ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), wrote Armenia’s “Graparak” newspaper, APA reports.
The paper citing its sources says that so far, the Armenian leadership has not been able to convince official Moscow that the ratification of the Rome Statute is not directed against the Russian government and President Vladimir Putin.
Remind that on February 23 of this year, the Constitutional Court of Armenia adopted a decision that the Rome Statute is compatible with the country's constitution and that the process of ratification of the Statute by the government can be continued.
After the decision of the Constitutional Court, the government had 3 months to send the statute to the parliament, but the parliament still hasn't received the ratification draft.
