Moscow – APA. The posts of ensign and warrant officer will be cancelled in Russian Armed Forces. APA reports that Interfax agency quoted a source in Defense Ministry According to the source 90,000 ensigns and 50,000 warrant officers will be either reduced or appointed to other posts. A part of them are expected to be transferred to the reserve. The posts of ensigns and Warrant Officers appeared in the Soviet Armed Forces in 1971. The titles of senior ensigns and senior warrant officers were instituted in 1981. Now the abolition of these posts is being carried out within the framework of staff reduction. The personnel of Russian Armed Forces will be reduced from 1.2 million to 1 million by 2012.
