Ukrainian Government refuses to fund elections

Kiev–APA. Ukrainian Government did not allocate financing for early parliamentary elections. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Turchinov said 15 members of the Cabinet supported the decision and 9 were against it, APA quotes UNIAN agency. The Government also asked the President to cancel his decree on dissolution of the Parliament. Minister of Transport Josef Vinsky said funding the early elections contradicted to the Constitution and the budget should be changed for that. The President’s representative to the Cabinet of Ministers Alexander Shlapak got angry with the Government’s decision. He said they had a time to fund elections. “We can hold consultations and make decision until the weekend”.

National Security and Defense Council urged the Government to pass special decision for funding elections.
