Azerbaijani President refuses to participate in Summit of CIS Heads of State

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not attend the Summit. Prime Minister Arthur Rasizadeh will represent Azerbaijan in the assembly. Summit of CIS Foreign Ministers will be held in Bishkek on October 9.
The agenda of the Summit of CIS Heads of State covers 21 issues, but the meeting of CIS Foreign Ministers 26 ones. Both of the meetings will consider nine documents. Georgiaâ€™s CIS membership was entered the agenda of CIS Foreign Ministers with proposal of Kyrgyzstan.
Georgian Foreign Ministry submitted a note on withdrawal of Georgia from CIS to Executive Committee. The document envisages Georgiaâ€™s withdrawal form agreement on establishment of CIS, adoption of CIS Regulations, establishment of Economic Union.
According to CIS Regulations, a state, which wants to leave the organization, should appeal 12 months ago. Georgia will officially leave CIS on August 18, 2009.
