Victor Yushchenko: “Frozen conflicts” should be solved within the territorial integrity of countries and inviolability of borders

Speaking at the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko expressed concern that common system based on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the countries and inviolability of the borders was threatened to collapse. Yushchenko said latest developments in the Caucasus beat a serious alarm, APA quotes UNIAN. “Ukraine condemns all acts of aggression and the use of force that occurred in the region and vigorously denounces the violation of the territorial integrity and inviolability of the Georgian borders and armed annexation of its territory. Ukraine does not recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia (and) condemns the endeavor of the illegitimate and separatist affirmation of the statehood of any territories", said Yushchenko. He said he expressed basic principles of the Ukraine’s foreign policy. Yushchenko summoned to turn down blackmailing and threatening vocabulary and inciting the separatist moods in the international relations and said that this policy could have fatal results for those instigators. The Ukrainian President said he supported all peace efforts in the South Caucasus. “Ukraine will continue its active part in the settlement of “frozen conflicts” within the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries, inviolability of the borders and human rights and freedoms”.
