Talks begin in Ukraine to restore “orange coalitionâ€

Kiev–APA. Yulia Tymoshenko Block, Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Block and Lytvyn Block began talks to form new coalition, APA reports quoting the Ukrainian websites. Deputy Speaker of Supreme Rada Nikolay Tomenko, representing BYuT in the negotiations said he was optimistic for the results of first meeting. “The ice broke up. We have a chance to form trilateral coalitionâ€. Tomenko said they would determine the next parliament session’s agenda together. “We will try for de-facto coordination of the activities of the three factions within the three daysâ€.
Leader of Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense faction Vyacheslav Kirilenko said they could solve a lot of problems establishing the trilateral coalition. He announced terms for signing the coalition deal. According to these terms, BYuT should renounce a joint voting with the Party of Regions and communists, as well as support for draft law restricting president’s authorities and vetoing by President Yushchenko. Kirilenko said they demanded to show common position on the Russian-Georgian conflict and to abolish parliament privilege.
All three blocks will continue consultations Thursday and members of the three factions will meet on September 26. BYuT member Andrey Shkil said President Yushchenko would also be invited to the meeting.

These three factions didn’t support Our Ukraine-proposed statement on Russia-Georgia war. After that Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense Block announced its withdrawal from the coalition government.
