29 inmates injured in mass disturbances at Samara penitentiary

Samara â€“APA. 29 inmates were injured in mass disturbances at a penitentiary in Russia’s Samara region. One inmate was taken to the burns unit of the city hospital and tow others were treated in the special medical units, APA reports. The inmates clashed with each other last evening. The prison staffs said all injured inmates were those who didnâ€™t obey to the criminal traditions and disputed with the criminal authorities. The inmates torched several unfit facilities in the penitentiary territory. A criminal case had been opened under two articles: "disruption of operation of penitentiary," and "mass rioting." Nearly two thousand inmates sentenced for drug crimes are serving imprisonment at the Samara penitentiary. One-third of them were serving 15-year or longer sentences.
