US Government allocating 500 million USD for Georgia not to assist Armenia

Washington–APA. US Government does not intend to assist Armenia, economy of which was damaged as a result of latest developments in the Caucasus, said US Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Daniel Fried during US-Russia hearings at the House’s Foreign Relations Committee, APA reports quoting Armtoday web-site. He said Armenia was already recipient of certain assistances within the framework of different financial programs. Member of the House of Representatives Bred Sherman said he concerned that US administration did not take into consideration the negative impact of the latest developments in the South Caucasus on Armenia.
Not intending to assist Armenia, the US Government is going to allocate 500 million USD to Georgia. A draft law on this issue has already submitted to the House of Representatives. These resources will be spent for restoration of destroyed infrastructure in Georgia, as well as it internal and regional trade.
