Russia reaches one more pipeline deal to transport Turkmen gas

Tashkent–APA. Moscow and Tashkent reached a deal for construction of one more pipeline via the territory of Uzbekistan for transportation of Turkmen gas. The agreement was reached during the Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s visit to Uzbekistan, APA reports. It is evaluated as a response to the Ashgabat-Beijing agreement on transportation of Turkmen gas to China. Currently Russian Gasprom is only purchaser of gas produced in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, but all three countries announced that they were interested in the diversification of gas transport routes. Last week President of Turkmenistan Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov and Chinese leader Hu Jintao signed an agreement for selling 30-40 billion cubic meters gas to China.
