New York–APA. The UN Security Council met on Tuesday to discuss a new resolution on Russia-Georgia conflict calling on Russia and Georgia to fulfil six-principle agreement and urging Russia to withdraw troops from Georgia immediately, APA reports quoting RIA-Novosti. The resolution was drafted by France. Russian ambassador to UN Vitaliy Churkin said his country rejected the draft resolution. “Putting the draft resolution to vote is a loss of time without reason. Moscow adheres to the agreement it signed, but the draft resolution is contrary to the plan of settlement”. Deputy US Ambassador to UN Alejandro Wolf said this event would be investigated not depending on Russia’s withdrawal from Georgia for any reason. “Russia must withdraw its troops from Georgia immediately”.
