CIS foreign ministers expected to discuss Georgia’s leaving

Baku. Lachin Sultanova–APA. Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States received Georgia’s note about leaving the organization, APA reports quoting RIA-Novosti. Press Service of the Executive Committee said the note would be sent to CIS countries on Tuesday and it was expected to be discussed at the meeting of CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Bishkek, Kyrgizistan on October 9.
The committee said according to CIS Charter leaving process could last for 12 months. “In that period Georgia must fulfill all obligations taken by signing of CIS agreements. Georgia can stay as a participant in separate agreements, but it needs to reach agreement of all member countries”, - said in the committee’s statement.
Georgia signed more than 700 documents within CIS.
