Tbilisi – APA. Georgian officials refuted Russia’s accusations over the failure of talks concerning the exchange of prisoners. APA reports quoting Interfax that Deputy Defense Minister of Georgia Batu Kutelia said Russia had presented them incomplete and inaccurate list of Georgian prisoners of war.
“Some days ago Russia stated that they had 80 POWs, but there are the names of only 12 POWs in the list provided by them. Besides, the list provided by Russia contains the names of Georgian servicemen who are free now. We have demanded Russia to specify the list once more and exchange the POWs basing on ‘all-for-all principle’,” he said.
Deputy chief of Russian Armed Forces headquarters Anatoli Nogovitsin had blamed Georgia for the failed talks. He said Georgia had 15 Russian POWs and Russia had 12 Georgian prisoners.
