Azerbaijani-populated villages-Mamisli, Soyunchay and Mohammadli of Dmanisi region of Georgia lack schools, APA’s Georgia bureau reports.
The 4-year-old school building in Soyunchay is ruined, therefore, the lessons are held in the basement of a house. Parents do not let their children to the lessons because of cold in the basement in winter. In Mamishli village, children have to get over 2-3 km to reach the school in another village.
Georgian Education Ministry rules out the problems in Azerbaijani villages. Deputy Education Minister Bela Tsipuria told APA there is school in every part of Georgia.
“The Ministry is not going to build a new school building. The exiting buildings will be repaired,” she said.
The deputy minister said the Ministry has prepared a program on repair of all schools in four years. The program has been implemented for the second year. 80 million laris was allocated to the program last year and 92 million this year./APA/
