On July 6, in the Kyiv region, the body of a woman was discovered whom law enforcement had considered a suspect in the attempted murder case of sanctioned businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, Mezha reports.
This was reported by sources in law enforcement agencies.
According to available information, two individuals have already been detained as part of the same investigation. One of them is an active officer of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the other is a former law enforcement officer.
The incident linked to the investigation occurred on June 29 at around 21:00 in Monaco. As a result of the explosion, three people were injured, two of whom sustained serious injuries. According to media reports, Vadym Yermolaiev and his relatives were among the injured.
After the explosion, local law enforcement began searching for the person who may have planted the explosive device. The man was captured on surveillance cameras; however, according to preliminary data, he left Monaco and may have traveled to France.
Later, Monaco ruled out the version of a terrorist attack. The principality’s General Prosecutor’s Office opened criminal proceedings on charges of attempted murder and placing an explosive device in a public place.
Some media outlets reported that investigators were also considering the possibility of involvement by the Security Service of Ukraine in the incident.
