According to the source, the issue on giving the area in Kvemo-Kartli region to Azerbaijani investors was debated during the visit of Kvemo-Kratli governor and Rustavi mayor to Baku. The area will be put up for auction in June. Modern settlement is planned to be constructed there.
One of the leaders of Democratic Front faction David Dzidziguri told the APA Georgia bureau if the area attracting the businessmen is sold to Azerbaijan, official Baku will have no claims regarding the debatable territories on border with Georgia.
Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Khazar Ibrahim told the APA that the rumors spread in Georgia that Azerbaijan will exchange David Garedji cloister with any other territory are groundless.
“It is not serious information and I do not want to comment on it. Azerbaijani will never deal in its lands,” he said. /APA/
