A nationalist opposition leader in Georgia was shot dead Sunday in the capital Tbilisi, a local television station was quoted by APA’s local bureau.
Guram Sharadze, a former member of parliament and the leader of the "Faith, Motherland and Language" party, was shot five times.Police detained a suspect in the killing, Georgi Barateli, not far from the scene.
There was no information on a possible motive for the killing.
Sharadze, 67 was parliament member in 1995-2003. /APA/
