Armenian population decreased by 173 000 people over last 10 years

Baku. Parvin Abbasov â€“ APA. The preliminary results of the process of population census in Armenia have been announced. APA reports that as of October 12, 2011, 2,871,509 people lived in Armenia. According to these results, the population is 3,285,767, including migrant workers in other countries. According to the previous census in 2001, the Armenian population was 3,458,303, including migrant workers, 3,002,598 people were living in the country at that time. Thus, Armenia’s population decreased by 173,000 people over the last 10 years and now 12.6% of the population are outside Armenia.
