Baku-APA. The Parliament has passed a bill that liberalizes controls at Ukrainian customs offices, officials said Thursday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
"The new document greatly liberalizes the procedure for customs clearance in order to reduce the influence of human factors on the process," said Vitaly Homutynnik, head of the parliamentary committee on finance, banking, tax and customs policy.
He told reporters that the new Customs Code expanded the sphere of electronic declaration, and reduced the time of customs clearance of goods to four hours from one day.
In accordance with the law, the total fee for goods worth less than 10, 000 euros was reduced by half to 10 percent. Items that cost more than that should be paid at full customs duties and be subject to customs declarations.
