Baku-APA. Georgia on Monday said that the next and probably the last round of the Swiss-mediated talks this year between the South Caucasus country and Russia on the latter’s bid to join the World Trade Organization would be held later this week, APA reports citing Xinhua.

The planned talks will be held on Oct. 7 and 8 in Geneva, Georgia’s deputy foreign minister told a press briefing on Monday.

Davit Jalagania reiterated Georgia’s stance on the WTO- accession talks by saying that Georgia has a principal position on the terms of Russia’s integration into the World Trade Organization.

"We hope and are ready for a dialogue," said the deputy foreign minister, "Georgia has never questioned its commitment toward discussions and dialogue."

Georgia has been insisting on transparency of trade across the borders of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, both of which have declared independence from Georgia but are not recognized by Georgia and most countries of the world.
