Baku – APA. Dmitry Medvedev said the military intervention in Georgia in August, 2008 is one of the hardest decisions for him both as a citizen and President of Russia.

APA reports quoting Russian media that Dmitry Medvedev said this while meeting with young parliamentarians in Kostroma.

He said there are very hard moments in the life of every leader, as well as the leader of the state.
“In August, 2008 I had to make a very difficult decision to send our troops to South Ossetia in order to defend our interests. Frankly speaking, it was not so easy, because I understood that a part of those people will not return,” he said.

Medvedev said those who have never made such decisions can not understand him.
“I would like the history of our country and state has very few such decisions,” he said.
