Dow Jones rises 2.1%, S&P 500 â€“ 2.3% and Nasdaq 2.4%

Baku â€“ APAâ€“Economics. The Dow Jones industrial rose 2.1% to 9069, S&P 500 â€“ 2.3% and reached 976.29, and Nasdaq â€“ 2.4% to 1974 on July 23.

According to APA-Economics, US AT&T net income was $0.54 per share in the second quarter of 2009 and it gained 2.5%, while Ford ended the reporting period with $2.3 billion income and gained 9.4%.

US National Association of Realtors announced that sale of occupying homes was increased 3.6% in July.

In the European markets, UK’s FTSE 100 rose 1.47 percent, to close at 4559.80, France’s CAC-40 â€“ 2.08 percent, to close at 3373.72, Germany’s DAX index â€“ 2.45 percent, to close at 5247.28. Credit Suisse net income was $2.36 billion in the first half of 2009 and it gained 5.8%. In similar period of 2008, the bank lost 615.3 million euro. HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Bank of Scotland and Banco Santander gained 2.6-4.9%.

The dollar price against euro was 1.4158 (-0.39%).
