Two improvised explosive devices exploded in the Sarsarang area of Upper Kurram near the Pak-Afghan border on Tuesday.

Rescue workers said the injured women were transferred to a regional hospital to receive necessary treatment.

Security forces cordoned off the area after the attacks and launched an investigation into it.

No group has yet claimed responsibility, but the Pakistani government often blames the pro-Taliban militants for similar attacks in the violence-wracked country.

The Tehrik-e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has carried out numerous attacks against security forces as well as civilians since 2001 when Pakistan entered an alliance with the US on the so-called war on terror.

This is while the government authorities as well as international officials have strongly condemned violence in the country.

Pakistani government has said it will use an all-out military action as a last resort to address the issues of extremism and militancy in the country.
