Turks protest against recent bloodshed in Egypt

Baku-APA. Thousands of Turkish peope took to the streets in major cities on Saturday to protest against recent bloodshed in Egypt, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Over 10,000 representatives of Memur-Sen, Hak-Is, Mazlum-Der, Anadolu Youths Association and other non-governmental organizations gathered in Sihhiye Square of the capital Ankara, staging a demonstration dubbed "Resistance for Egypt, resistance for humanity."

"We are gathering today as a solidarity platform with the oppressed Egyptian people to demonstrate our anger against the inhuman acts of severity (in Egypt)," said a girl at the demonstration.

In Istanbul, people took to the streets to participate in protests, led by Human and Civilization Movement, waving banners that read "It's time to support Egypt" in Turkish, Arabic and English.

On Saturday, similar protests were seen in other Turkish cities, including Van, Antalya, Erzurum, Konya, Kocaeli, Sivas, Erzincan, Bolu, Karabuk, Samsun, Sakarya, Nevsehir, Isparta and Batman.
