It is unclear what kind of military cargo the aircrafts contained. Turkish ambassador to Iraq Faruk Kaymakci handed over the military equipment to Iraq’s Defense Ministry officials.
“Whether within the international coalition against Islamic State or bilaterally, Turkey will provide support to the friendly people and government of Iraq in their fight against terrorism, and do its utmost to secure the unity and integrity, stability, security and welfare of Iraq,” the Turkish embassy in Iraq said in an official statement.
Note that, Turkish Defense Minister Ismet Yilmaz is scheduled to make a visit to Iraq on March 4.
