Baku-APA. Saudi-led coalition warplanes on Tuesday struck an airbase in Yemeni capital Sanaa, eyewitnesses have said, APA reports quoting Anadolu Agency.
Plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from northern Sanaa's Al-Dulaimi airbase, according to witnesses.
No information is yet available regarding casualties or material damage.
The airbase has been attacked several times by coalition warplanes since Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies launched an air campaign – now in its fifth week – against Yemen's Shiite Houthi group.
Riyadh says its anti-Houthi campaign is in response to appeals by embattled Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi for help against the Shiite group, which overran capital Sanaa last September before advancing on other provinces.
The Houthis, for their part, denounce the offensive as an unwarranted "Saudi-American onslaught" onYemen.
