Those who support murderous Assad and PYD are mistaken, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday, APA reported citing NTV channel.
“We will fight against both evils till the end,” Erdogan noted.
Speaking about Turkey’s anti-terrorist operations in Syria, the president said they would not stop fighting before they achieve their targets.
“Turkey is the only country that is capable of creating stability in Syria,” Erdogan stressed.
Erdogan also touched on the recent chemical attack on the Syrian city of Douma, saying he has discussed the issue with the US and Russia.
“Yesterday I had a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump an today I will telephone Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss how we can join forces to stop this massacre. Since the very beginning, Turkey has aimed to ensure a secure future for Syria. So we will continue our operations until security is established in Syria,” he added.
Turkey is the only state conducting a sincere struggle against terrorist organizations in Syria, Erdogan said. “All but us use terrorist organizations as a tool to realize different motives.”
He went on to say that Turkey does not intend to use weapons against the soldiers of its allies. “As a friend, I want to advise each of them not to stand by terrorists. We see terrorist organizations such as PYD, Daesh as a threat and consider it important to do the necessary,” Erdogan noted.
The Turkish president stressed that the world may soon face a threat because of this “spectacle” being demonstrated in Syria and Iraq.
“We want this "spectacle" played in Syria and Iraq to end, masks removed and everyone's true colors exposed. It's also wrong to keep a regime that is attacking its own citizens with chemical weapons and trying to divide Syria through terrorism," he added.
The Turkish leader also voiced discomfort over some countries which are turning Syria into an "arm wrestling" arena.
