Arms seized from militants shown in Syria’s Douma

More than 10,000 units of arms and ammunition seized from fighters of the Jaysh al-Islam group have been shown to reporters in Dumayr on Saturday, a TASS correspondent reported from the scene, APA reports quoting TASS.

Among the weapons were firearms, mortars, TOW anti-tank missile systems and about 20 tanks. Most of the weapons were manufactured in NATO states. Besides, there were mortars and improvised grenades, as well as shells for improvised mortar guns firing gas cylinders stuffed with explosives. Tanks are operative.

Apart from that, the reporters were shown militants’ former underground base, their hospital and cells for hostages taken from local residents. Medicines and equipment were produced in the United States and Europe, in line with labels on packages.
