Baku-APA. At least 80 passengers were reported injured when a train of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) got derailed on Wednesday afternoon in Metro Manila, a government official said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The southbound train derailed between Makati City and Taguig City at around 4 p.m.
"Eighty suffered minor injuries, no one was seriously hurt," said Emerson Carlos, assistant general manager of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority.
PNR authorities are still conducting investigation as to what caused the accident.
Two coaches got derailed between the EDSA station in Magallanes, Makati and the Nichols station in Taguig, said PNR spokesman Paul de Quiros.
