The US wants to cooperate with Turkey not only on the issue of Libya and Syria but also in many areas from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea and Caucasus regions, the Turkish foreign minister said on Wednesday, APA reports citing Anadolu.

In an interview with state broadcaster TRT Haber, Mevlut Cavusoglu said Ankara approaches the upcoming meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his US counterpart Joe Biden with positive agenda, adding his country receives similar signals from Washington.

A face-to-face meeting between two leaders is planned to take place on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Brussels on June 14.

He also talked about Turkey’s purchase of air defense systems, underlining that “If the US does not guarantee Patriot, we can get air defense system from our other allies.”

About Turkey’s relations with France, Cavusoglu said the French trade minister will visit Turkey. “We will take important economic steps together in the upcoming period, as well as strengthen our bilateral relations.”
