Iran will hold discussions with the United States in Islamabad based on a 10-point plan, Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said, APA's Tehran bureau reports.
The deputy minister stated that the United States attacked Iran for the second time in the middle of the diplomatic process while the Geneva talks were ongoing, killing Iran’s Supreme Leader, as well as a number of high-ranking commanders, officials, and civilians.
He noted that Tehran acted responsibly by declaring a ceasefire and presenting the 10-point plan to the Americans. According to him, an agreement has been reached for Iran’s 10-point plan to serve as the basis for the negotiations.
“Iran’s main approach toward neighboring countries is to improve neighborly relations, and Tehran’s defense operations should not be perceived as attacks against these countries. These operations were carried out against American bases and facilities located in those countries and used for military aggression against Iran,” Takht-Ravanchi emphasized.
The deputy minister also thanked the countries that condemned the attack on Iran and sharply criticized the stance of some European countries.
