An investigation has begun into the black box of a Libyan aircraft that crashed in Türkiye, the Ankara Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement, APA reports, citing TRT Haber.
Under the prosecutor’s instructions, the protected device has been sent to the British capital, London, for analysis of flight data and cockpit voice recordings. The technical report is expected to provide concrete evidence regarding the cause of the aircraft crash.
It was also reported that the process of identifying those who lost their lives in the crash has been completed.
Following the incident, investigations involving the flight crew — including a citizen of the Republic of Cyprus who was questioned in Ankara for a period — have so far found no indications of terrorism or external interference.
Note that on December 23, 2025, an aircraft carrying the Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces General Staff, which had taken off from Esenboğa Airport in Ankara, crashed.
