New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins announced on Monday that he will visit China at the end of June, leading a trade delegation, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"Our trade links, underpinned by our recently upgraded free trade agreement, have proven incredibly resilient in recent years," he told reporters.
He added that New Zealand should diversify its exports and "throw our support behind emerging sectors, like gaming, health and wellness."
"We've prided ourselves in our relationship with China of being stable and consistent in our position, and we will continue to be so. That means where we have human rights concerns, we will raise them," Hipkins said, adding that he will repeat New Zealand's opposition to the war in Ukraine.
He also confirmed he will attend the NATO summit in Lithuania in July.
