Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Monday that the country's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant will remain in the position despite the recent news of the minister's dismissal, APA reports citing Teletrader.
"We are standing together and working together around the clock on all fronts in the face of the security challenges," Israeli prime minister said during the press conference, adding that he decided to set aside his diffrences with defense minister. "We will not allow Hamas to establish itself in Lebanon," Netanyahu stressed.
Hundreds of people were detained by Israeli police at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem last week, which was later followed by a wave of rocket fire from Israel and Lebanon. Following the recent events, the Israeli prime minister called for strengthening the nation's defense forces.
