“Every country can make decisions in its own interests,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in response to a question about cooperation between Russia and the United States in the fuel sector, APA’s Tehran bureau reports.
“Every country can make decisions in its own interests. Naturally, we as Iran also make decisions based on our own interests. This is between Russia and the United States. But what is interesting to me is this: if the Strait of Hormuz were really open, would the US side reach out to Russia and ask for help?” Baghaei said.
It should be noted that US President Donald Trump said Russia would release 300,000 tons of diesel fuel onto the global market, which would also help reduce prices.
