"A special economic task force has been established to eliminate the consequences of the damage caused by the war," said Samad Hassanzadeh, head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, in an interview with APA.
Speaking about the damage caused by the recent war against Iran, Hassanzadeh said that the war harms countries involved in the war all over the world and that Iran has also suffered great losses as a result of this war.
He said that the assassination of the Supreme Leader of Iran and the country's commanders is among these losses.
The Iranian official added that all responsible persons of the country are working to improve the economic situation and implement necessary reforms in the economic sphere.
According to Hasanzadeh, a special economic headquarters was established with the participation of economic activists at the initiative of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture in order to eliminate the economic consequences of the damage caused by the war.
He said that the main objectives of the task force are to monitor and assess the state of economic enterprises, support the preservation of the continuity of production and supply chains, and study financial, monetary and international issues.
Hassanzadeh also touched upon the high economic potential between Iran and the Caucasus countries, saying that the removal of restrictions imposed on the Iranian economy as a result of sanctions will create broad opportunities for the development of trade with these countries.
The head of the chamber also noted the economic potential between Tehran and Baku. He said that neighboring Azerbaijan is a major economic partner for Iran, taking into account the extensive cultural and linguistic similarities.
Hassanzadeh also emphasized that despite the existence of some problems, Iran's policy is to develop economic relations with Azerbaijan.
He also touched upon the process of completing the North-South strategic corridor, saying that this corridor can make a great contribution to the Iranian economy, especially by allowing the transit of cargo through the territory of Azerbaijan.
Hassanzadeh noted that extensive expertise has been carried out on the North-South corridor, especially by Russia, and currently the Russian side is cooperating with the Islamic Republic of Iran in this direction.
“I am sure that this route will become one of the largest communication routes for the export of Iranian goods to European countries,” he said.
