Türkiye recognizes the territorial integrity of all neighboring countries, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said in his statement regarding the tripartite meeting of the defense ministers of Russia, Türkiye and Syria in Moscow, APA reports citing the Turkish Ministry of Defense.
Defence Minister Hulusi Akar, while evaluating the results of the meeting with his colleagues from Russia and Syria, said that Türkey recognizes the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all neighboring countries, including Syria and Iraq.
Speaking about the results of the meeting, Akar noted that Tükiye’s views and position were conveyed to the parties and the positions of the other parties also listened.
He reminded that Türkiye fights against terrorism.
“One of the main issues that we discussed at the meeting was the fight against terrorism. We stressed that we respect to the territorial integrity and sovereignty rights of all our neighbors, especially Syria and Iraq and that our only purpose was the fight against terrorism, and we did not have any other goal. We stated that our goals are to neutralize the members of terrorist organizations such as PKK/YPG, and ISIS, which pose a threat to Syria. We noted that we make efforts for ensuring the security of our country, nation, and borders,” emphasized Akar.
The minister said that the issue of Syrian refugees was also discussed.
