A 5.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded in northeast Iran on Saturday, according to data provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), APA reports citing Teletrader.
The epicenter of the quake was some 55 kilometers north-north-east of the city of Tabas in the country's South Khorasan. The city is home to 39,676, according to the 2016 Census.
The tremor struck at a shallow depth of about 10.0 kilometers.
