Baku-APA. Arab League’s (AL) chief Nabil al- Arabi called on Wednesday for putting an end immediately to the violence in Syria to give UN-AL envoy Kofi Annan a chance to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
In a statement, al-Arabi called on the Syrian government to withdraw military vehicles from Syrian streets to give a chance for cease-fire and allow humanitarian aid to enter the seized and destructed areas.
The AL chief also asked the Syrian government to respond to these demands as quickly as possible and stop violence to help Annan handle the Syrian crisis.
Annan, former UN chief, was jointly appointed the special envoy over the Syrian crisis by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and al- Arabi on Feb. 23.
