Israel retaliates rocket attacks on Gaza

Baku-APA. Israeli fighting helicopters struck southern Gaza City on Saturday night in retaliation to earlier rockets attacks fired from the Gaza Strip on southern Israel, witnesses and security sources said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The witnesses said that at least two rockets fired from an Israeli helicopter hit a goldsmith workshop in southern Gaza city, adding that flames of fire were seen coming out of a two-story building in the area.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of emergency administration in Gaza, said that one bystander was lightly injured and taken to the hospital for treatment, adding that severe damage was caused to the workshop on the first floor and the second floor.

Security sources in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip said that police and security forces evacuated all police stations and security headquarters for fear of intensive Israeli retaliation to earlier rocket attacks fired on southern Israel on Saturday.

At around noon, three Grad rockets were fired from eastern Gaza and landed near the southern Israeli city of Beer Sheba. No injuries were reported and no one claimed responsibility for the attack.
