Baku-APA. Three simultaneous blasts have struck the government buildings in Iraq, killing 10 people and injuring 15 others, security officials say, APA reports quoting Press TV.

The explosions occurred at 8:30 p.m. (1730 GMT) on Thursday in Ramadi, 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ismail, spokesman for Anbar military command, said.

Another explosion also took place near Ramadi general hospital, AFP reported.

The spokesman said that the first explosion was a roadside bomb, the second was a bomb attack and the third was a car bomb.

Over the previous months, regular attacks have occurred in Ramadi, capital of the restive al-Anbar province, Ismail said.

On January 17, a bomb blast targeting a convoy carrying Anbar governor Qassim Mohammed Abid wounded three bodyguards and six policemen. Abid was unharmed in the attack.

Anbar provincial government offices were targeted three times in 2010. Abid had lost his left hand in a bomb attack on December 30, 2009, in which 23 people were killed and dozens others injured.

Iraq continues to wrestle with violence in the 10th year of the US military occupation of the country despite the presence of tens of thousands of US-led troops.

Over one million Iraqis have died during the occupation, according to the California-based media research group Project Censored.

The United States is obligated to withdraw its forces, which currently number around 50,000, by the end of this year in line with a bilateral accord.

The agreement also forced Washington to end its combat operations in Iraq in August 2010.
