Baku – APA. Iranian Envoy to Manama Hossein Amir Abdollahian in a meeting with Bahraini Oil and Gas Minister Abd al-Husayn Mirza discussed ways to promote the two countries’ technical cooperation in the oil and gas sectors, APA reports quoting “Fars News Agency”.
During the meeting, Mirza referred to the age-old relations between the two friendly and brotherly countries and the two nations’ brotherly bonds, and urged for further expansion of relations in all the various fields.

Abdollahian, for his part, announced Iran’s readiness to develop and consolidate relations in all fields, including cooperation between the two countries’ oil ministries.

Referring to the proposals raised by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during a recent summit of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) in Doha, he underlined the importance of all-out cooperation between the two countries, specially in economic fields and in the oil and gas sectors.

Iran has recently made continued and intensive efforts to boost energy cooperation with the Persian Gulf Arab states.

In February, Iranian and Bahraini officials discussed export of Iran’s gas to the Arab country during a visit by a Bahraini delegation to Tehran.

Iran in early March announced its preparedness to supply gas to Bahrain and Oman after holding negotiations with the officials of the two Persian Gulf Arab states.

Deputy Oil Minister Hojjatollah Qanimifard told FNA at the time that Iran’s gas export to Bahrain was discussed in recent talks among Iranian, Russian and Bahraini oil and energy ministers in Doha.

"With the agreements attained thus far and with conducting the studies agreed by the two sides of the deal, we can finalize the agreements at the earliest and implement the project," Qanimifard said.
