Moscow to host 2nd International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival

Moscow. Farid Akbarov â€“ APA. Russian capital will host 2nd International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival from March 27 to April 5 this year, said Deputy Head of the Committee of Culture of Moscow Andrey Porvatov at the press conference held in Moscow. According to him, the opening of the festival devoted to the memory of worldâ€™s famous cellist Mstislav Rostropovich will be held on March 27, his birthday, in Tchaikovsky Concert Hall.

The Maestroâ€™s daughter, president of Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation, the festivalâ€™s artistic director Olga Rostropovich, who took part in the press conference, said that the this year the festival will be held largely in comparison with lat year: â€œWe have already planned to perform at Saint-Petersburg Academic Philharmonic. I think that we must hold this festival in whole Russiaâ€.

Responding the question on the holding on next Rostropovich Festival in Azerbaijan, she said that the festival will have jubilee character in 2012 and they will guest in Baku with very beautiful musical week.
