“The UN has great potential, but it is unable to respond to many important issues,” said U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the Munich Security Conference, APA reports.
“The UN has great potential to be a force for good in the world, but we cannot deny that today it has no answer to the most important issues and, in fact, plays no role,” the Secretary of State said while speaking about the UN’s role in resolving the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.
Rubio added that U.S. leadership, in partnership with many countries, was needed to at least bring Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table.
