The United States State Department issued a travel advisory on Thursday calling on its citizens currently traveling or living overseas to be vigilant given the "increased tensions" and heightened threat of "terrorist attacks" worldwide, APA reports citing Teletrader.
In addition, the department recommended US nationals "to stay alert" when visiting tourist areas and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to make it easier for authorities to locate them during an emergency situation overseas.
Previously, the State Department cautioned its nationals against traveling to Lebanon due to "unpredictable security situation."
