The US federal government has partially suspended its operations temporarily (shutdown), APA reports, citing US media.
The reason for this was dissatisfaction in Congress regarding the funding of the Department of Homeland Security.
It should be noted that the US government previously declared a shutdown last year from October 1 to November 14. This was the longest government shutdown in US history.
During the shutdown, essential service sectors were affected, and the salaries of hundreds of thousands of civil servants were delayed for weeks.
