Ministry of Justice continues to engage in effective cooperation with relevant authorities in foreign states to apprehend and extradite internationally-wanted individuals who are accused of committing crimes.
APA reports citing Press Service of the Ministry of Justice.
It was stated that on October 28, the Ministry facilitated the extradition to Azerbaijan of another individual who had been placed on an international wanted list by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan and subsequently located in the People's Republic of China.
Specifically, Rustam Ibrahimov, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was located and arrested in the People's Republic of China. He is accused of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm (under Article 126.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan) by stabbing his spouse during a dispute in the apartment they shared in Baku.
Rustam Ibrahimov was brought to the country from the People's Republic of China by responsible officials from the Ministry of Justice’s Main Directorate for International Cooperation and the Ministry’s Penitentiary Service; pursuant to a court-ordered arrest, he has been placed in an appropriate pre-trial detention center.
The Ministry continues to take the necessary measures in this regard.
