The United States administration has approved arms sales worth a total of $23 billion to its allies in the Middle East, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The package aims the supply of various military equipment and systems to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Jordan.
Earlier, the U.S. Department of State authorized sales worth $16 billion. This package includes air defense systems and bombs for the UAE, as well as air defense equipment for Kuwait.
The report also states that the U.S. administration has additionally approved $7 billion in arms sales for the UAE.
This package includes PAC-3 missiles for Patriot systems (approximately $5.6 billion) and CH-47 Chinook helicopters (approximately $1.32 billion).
