US President Trump told Axios in an interview on Monday that the situation with Iran is "in flux" because he sent a "big armada" to the region but thinks Tehran genuinely wants to cut a deal, APA reports.

"We have a large armada near Iran. Larger than Venezuela," the American leader said in an interview with Axios . "They want to make a deal," Trump added, referring to the Iranian authorities. "I know. They've called repeatedly. They want to talk." The president did not specify what specific potential agreements he had in mind.

As noted in the publication, Trump did not specify what further actions he intends to take regarding Iran. He believes the situation in the republic is "in a state of flux."
