U.S. President Donald Trump, in a post on his Truth Social platform, has announced that the Board of Peace has reached what he described as a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza.

Trump said the agreement would pave the way for Gaza to be governed by a new Palestinian government that would work closely with the Board of Peace, while ensuring that the territory is no longer used as a base for attacks against Israel.

According to the U.S. president, the agreement is a key element of his 20-Point Plan and will be implemented in carefully structured phases. Once the disarmament process is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw from Gaza, and an International Stabilization Force, together with a new Palestinian police force, will assume responsibility for maintaining security.

Trump said significant progress had been made over the past year, noting that Gaza had previously been engulfed in war, a humanitarian crisis and the captivity of hostages.

He thanked Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye for their mediation efforts and praised his administration's team for helping secure what he called a "historic breakthrough."

"The threat that emerged from Gaza on October 7 will not be allowed to rebuild," Trump said, adding that under the agreement Gaza would "finally be in the hands of a new Palestinian government that serves its people."
